As on the tug links page, some of these pictures serve as links and others go to an enlargement of the picture. I'm sorry for the inconsistency.

The schooner BOWDOIN now makes her home at Maine Maritime Academy. Their website is a work in progress (most are!) but is worth checking out.

ROCKPORT MARINE describes itself as primarily being in the restoration and maintenance business, but they have built two large vessels already, Lynx and Godspeed, and are nearly ready to launch a third, the Bermudian, a three-masted schooner with a sparred length of 112' of modern construction which will provide sail training for Bermudian middle-schoolers.

Originally a North Sea trawler, WANDERBIRD has been refurbished into a safe, comfortable and even a bit of a fancy vessel to take a dozen passengers to sea. Ecology Adventures on the coasts of Maine and the Maritimes, good company and wonderful food.

Captain Jim Sharp is an exceptional storyteller. While he is perhaps most widely known for his quarter century with the schooner Adventure, he has worked and played aboard many other vessels of many descriptions. He has appeared prominently in my Bowdoin and On Tugboats, and here is his own site, with links to various books and other projects of his. His own book, With Reckless Abandon, came out in the spring of 2007 and is every bit as lively and fun as Jim is in person.
